Privacy Policy

Last updated 10 July 2026

The short version. Flareless is built to be private. Your health logs (the foods and drinks you record, how you feel, your check ins) are stored in an encrypted database on your own device, and nowhere else. We do not run a server that holds this data, so there is nothing for us to read, mine, or sell. This policy explains the detail, including the two limited cases where the app talks to the network.

Who we are

Flareless ("we", "us") provides the Flareless mobile app. If you have any question about this policy, contact us at hey@studiofuture.ae.

Your health data stays on your device

Everything you log in the app stays on your phone. This includes the foods and drinks you record, your symptom and feeling check ins, your diary, your tests, and the suspects the app works out for you.

This data is stored in an encrypted database on the device, with the encryption key held in the device's secure keychain. We do not upload it, back it up to our servers, or transmit it to any third party. We cannot see it.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
  • We do not run advertising or share your data with advertisers.
  • We do not include third party analytics or tracking SDKs that profile you.
  • We do not track your calories, macros, or weight. The app does not collect them.

The two times the app uses the network

1. Unlocking Flareless Pro. There is no account and no sign in. If you buy the one time Pro unlock, payment is handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play, so we never see or store your payment details. We use RevenueCat to confirm the purchase with the store and remember that your unlock is active, under a random anonymous identifier. Your name, email, and health logs are never involved, and the purchase restores through your store account. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

2. Looking up products. When you search for a branded product or scan a barcode, the app queries Open Food Facts, a free public food database, to fetch the product name, photo, and allergen tags. We send only the search term or barcode. We do not send your identity or your health logs. See Open Food Facts at openfoodfacts.org.

Backups and transferring to a new phone

To move your history to a new device, the app lets you export an encrypted backup file. You choose where that file goes (for example AirDrop, your files app, or a drive you control). We never receive a copy. Keep your backup file safe, because anyone who has both the file and your passphrase could read it.

Permissions the app may request

  • Camera. Used only to scan barcodes when you choose to. We do not take or store photos.
  • Notifications. Used only for the optional daily reminder, if you turn it on. You can turn it off at any time.

Keeping or deleting your data

Because your logs are on your device, you are in control. Deleting an entry removes it. "Delete all my data" in the app wipes the local database. Uninstalling the app removes it from the device. There is no copy on our side to request.

Children

Flareless is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Not medical advice

Flareless helps you spot patterns in your own logs. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified clinician.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above. If a change is significant, we will make it clear in the app.
